Spotlighting the power of imagination, and inspired by the Fluent design, our Holiday campaign refreshes last year’s campaign with energetic, unexpected visuals—putting a modern, tech-evolved spin on nostalgic childlike exploration, crafts, and materials.

It’s elevated with an enriched, vibrant palette that invites our global audience in to experience a fresh sense of wonder and innovation. The tone we are tryin to set is heartfelt, festive, and inspiring.

Art Direction & Design

Creative Direction
The 2022 Microsoft Holiday Campaign was created in a way to bridge the gap between Microsofts flat visuals and its evolving Fluent design style. Along with a creative team, we were tasked to evolve last years system in a way that speaks in dimension, materials, light, and shadow.

Elements & Characters
Drawing inspiration from various regions and climates, the elements and characters add a lively, heartwarming energy. This year’s Holiday palette features warm, cool, and neutral colors from the Brand color palette.

Element & Character Groupings
Designed to easily pair with products and keep the proper asset ratio intact, these element groupings are available as grab-n-go assets. Offered in warm, cool, and green palettes, these groupings are a quick, easy, and elevated design solution for the season’s storytelling moments.

Backgrounds
Backgrounds come in gradient and solid, and neutral layered options are available to use as well. Use according to level of emphasis or importance

Multi-layered backgrounds create an immersive, magical space for our holiday spirit to come through with our elements and digital products. Use to fill the space in a composition and frame the central focus area. Great with key art, simple groupings, or individual elements and characters.
